Privacy Policy
No cookies, no analytics, no trackers.
This policy covers both Odal Node websites: this one and the documentation site.
- The sites set no cookies.
- There is no analytics: no Google Analytics, Plausible, Fathom, or any equivalent.
- There are no third-party trackers, advertising pixels, or social embeds.
- We do not build a profile of you, and we do not sell or share data.
- The only personal data involved is what your browser sends to load a page, and anything you choose to email us.

Who is responsible
Who looks after your data.
Odal Node is run by Aleksandar Temelkov, who is responsible for these websites and for the personal data described on this page (the "controller" under the GDPR). Odal Node is not a registered company yet. When it is, the company takes over this role and is named here.
For anything about your data, write to contact@odal-node.io.
Hosting
What the host sees.
Both sites are served as static files by Cloudflare Pages. As with any website, your browser must connect to a server to load a page, and that connection is visible to the host. Cloudflare processes standard request data: your IP address, the time of the request, the page requested, your browser's user-agent string, and similar technical details.
This is needed to deliver the pages and to protect them from abuse, such as attacks that try to overload them. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in serving and securing the sites (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). We do not run analytics over this data and do not receive it as a record of you.
Cloudflare processes this data on our behalf as our hosting provider, under its data processing terms. How long it keeps its logs is set out in Cloudflare's privacy policy. Cloudflare may process the data in the United States. It is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission has found to protect personal data adequately (Implementing Decision (EU) 2023/1795).
What happens to an email you send us.
If you write to us, for example to join the waitlist, we receive your email address, your name if you give it, and whatever your message says. Writing to us is up to you. Without your email we cannot reply.
We use it for two things:
- To reply to you. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering the people who write to us, or, when you ask about using Odal Node, taking the steps you asked for before any agreement (GDPR Article 6(1)(f) and 6(1)(b)).
- To write to you later when something you asked about is ready, such as your product group. We do this only if you ask us to, and that request is your consent (Article 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time by telling us, and we stop.
We do not add you to a mailing list. Nobody but us and the provider that hosts our email handles what you send. That provider processes it on our behalf and may do so in the United States, under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
We keep your emails for two years after our last exchange, then delete them. If you ask us to delete them sooner, we do.
Your browser
What stays on your device.
The documentation site remembers whether you chose a light or dark display, in your browser's local storage. It is never sent to us, and you can clear it in your browser's settings.
The documentation's API reference can send a test request to a node address you enter. That request goes straight from your browser to that address. It does not pass through us.
Off-site links
Where the sites send you.
Some links lead to other websites: our GitHub organisation, the official texts of EU law, and a few cited standards. Once you follow them you are on someone else's website, governed by its own privacy practices, not this one. We have no control over what those services collect.
Your rights
What you can ask of us.
Under the GDPR you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you, and give you a copy;
- correct it;
- delete it;
- limit how we use it while a question about it is settled;
- send it to you, or to someone you name, in a common format.
Your right to object. Where we use your data on the basis of our legitimate interest, you can object at any time, for reasons relating to your situation. We then stop, unless we have compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights and freedoms.
Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. This does not affect what we did before you withdrew it.
To use any of these rights, write to contact@odal-node.io. We reply within one month. Because the only personal data we hold is what you have emailed us, a request usually means "delete our correspondence", which we will do.
You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority, in particular in the EU country where you live or work, or where you think the problem arose.
We make no automated decisions about you and do not profile you.
Changes
How this page changes.
Changes to this policy are made in public. The websites' source, with every earlier version of this page, is in its public repository. For who runs Odal Node and what the information on these sites is and is not, see the legal notice.
